Talent and Generosity
When it comes to talent and generosity, Mario Olivares was truly one of a kind. His beautiful Spanish guitar music and talent is something we all love and admire, however, that just scratches the service of this multifaceted talented and generous man.
I first met Mario when I emailed him with a request to use some of his music on my Team PJW 5-Minute Pajama workout program. I had listened to his CD and love his music. I decided to see if he would consider letting me use it for my workout program. Not only did he consider it, he called me back to talk about it and was very enthusiastic about it. He was happy for me to use his music and met with me several times to discuss ideas and ways to promote the program. He was so encouraging and supportive. He introduced me to his good friend Brian Christie, whom we met with several times. Brian is a master communicator and a former anchorman for NBC news. He has interviewed people from all walks of life including Henry Kissinger.
We got together on several occasions to discuss ideas on promoting my workout on TV and to help me with my communication and speaking skills for television.
Mario became a friend, meeting with Brian and I to help me with promoting the Team PJW program. Being an entrepreneur is hard, especially when you have limited time and funds to keep things going. I will never forget the generosity and support Mario gave me so unselfishly, expecting nothing in return. I am forever grateful for having met such a talented musician and truly generous and personable human being.
I emailed Mario this past September, only to learn he had passed away two weeks earlier. To say I was shocked was an understatement. I talked to Brian who was very distraught to lose such a great friend. I had been out of touch for a while due to other commitments.
Mario and I had many great conversations and I learned a lot from him. He was very positive, helpful, and full of ideas for me. He was also a pharmacist and was extremely health conscious. He realized how important good health is in all areas of our life and believed in the Team PJW program as a means to help people.
I want to thank Mario for his support, generosity, talent, and most importantly, for being a truly inspiring human being. It is with heartfelt gratitude that I write this and want to wish him, his family, friends, and fans, comfort in knowing he will always be a part of our lives and his beautiful music and spirit will live on forever.
